NESCI Kick-off meeting - March 2, 2023 in Lucca

Researchers from Sant’Anna, IMT, UniPi and SNS have decided to foster their collaborations through NESCI; a new Network for Statistical and Causal Inference. NESCI will promote the development of methods applicable across the sciences – with a special focus on experimental and machine learning methods, and the exchange of results among researchers from the participating institutions in and around Pisa. The kick-off meeting will be held on March 2, 2023 in Lucca, with an option for remote participation.

Researchers from Sant’Anna, IMT, UniPi and SNS have decided to foster their collaborations through NESCI; a new Network for Statistical and Causal Inference. NESCI will promote the development of methods applicable across the sciences – with a special focus on experimental and machine learning methods, and the exchange of results among researchers from the participating institutions in and around Pisa.

Research themes related to statistical and causal inference are broad and relevant enough as to attract economists, psychologists, neuroscientists, data scientists and philosophers. NESCI will organize a number of events at regular intervals in Pisa and Lucca -- e.g., lunch seminars and mini-workshops where "work in progress" will be circulated ahead of time and then presented and discussed among workshop participants.

The NESCI kick-off event will be held on March 2, 2023 at IMT in Aula 2 (P.zza S. Francesco 19, 55100 Lucca). Remote access will be available at imt.lu/aula2. More detail on NESCI and the program of the event can be found in the downloadable pdf documents.
